Making of

To create my three dimensional pieces of artwork, I use a technique originally from France.

Everything starts with a sheet of foam board covered with textured paper: this is the background of my picture.

I draw or transfer a design on it.

Using a craft knife I make slits all along the lines of the design.

I cut out pieces of fabric in the shape of each part of the design.

With a pointed tool, I tuck the fabric into the slits.

To raise the fabric, I slide some padding/wadding between the board and the fabric. I can embellish the design with beads, ribbons, …
